In Japanese, kitsune means "fox" and in Japanese folklore it's a fax spirit, with magic that grows stronger with the kitsune's age. When they live for a hundred years, they're able to take human form. Also the older they are, the more tails they have. When they have nine of them, which is, I think, the max, they turn white or silver (I didn't include that here, though). I was inspired to draw this beast by the Alphabeastiary challenge
